Adiona Wins StartCon "Pitch for $1M" Competition, Qualifies for World Final

Upstart AI logistics optimisation startup Adiona took out top honours at the "Pitch for $1MILLION" competition at the annual StartCon conference on Saturday, 23rd Nov 2019. StartCon is the largest startup event in Australia and partnered with US based Venture Capital firm EDGE196 to fund the competition.

Adiona was joined on the podium by video content marketing disruptors Vloggi and medication management platform ScalaMed, having beaten 40 shortlisted startups, from a starting field of 400 hopefuls.

EDGE196 founder Jay Patel said the Houston, Texas-based investor was especially interested in startups with “globally scalable solutions in growing markets” and that "the logistics tech sector is going through a global transformation", which Adiona can be a clear leader in.

It's been a busy year for Adiona, after winning the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia's 2019 Environmental Excellence Award the previous night in Sydney, honouring their efforts in reducing carbon emissions from mobile fleets using their novel algorithmic tech platform. The team were also finalists in the CEBIT pitch competition in October, were winners of the annual Launch Festival pitch competition in June, and graduated from the prestigious Telstra muru-D accelerator programme in August.

They are currently receiving expressions of interest from seed-stage investors for their AU$1M seed round, due to close in January 2020. Check out the video of the award presentation at StartCon below.
